The Lucknow CWC of AIBSNLOA had anticipated the necessity of a strike on pay revision issue and had resolved to be part of a 'joint strike' and directed General Secretary to hold discussions with other unions and associations in this direction. GS acted on these lines and when the AUAB gave call for an agitational programme on the issue, the matter was discussed in OBUA and it was decided to extend support to the programme, thereby expressing our intent to be part of a joint strike. But the AUAB appears to think that they are omnipotent and there is no need for a joint strike with other unions and associations. May be the AUAB wants to be the sole owners of pay revision if and when it is achieved and do not want to share the success with anyone else. This attitude alienated even the unions and associations which were signatories to the two days strike last year. Also, no request for joining the strike has been received either orally or through mail till now by AIBSNLOA. WE STILL BELIEVE THAT THIS STRIKE IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND ARE WILLING TO PARTICIPATE. But the AUAB's reluctance to take all together and its domineering attitude is standing in the way. Anyway, we extend our moral support, for now.
